Big bill coming
Well I took my SL65 in on Monday to have a Johnson CM30 pump fitted.
Already had it done on my 600, and a member said it will fit my 65. Expected
to collect my car today, not finished...why, I asked. Changing the pump is
a very big job, bumpers off before you start, 5 hours
This plus all the other bits I asked them to do means a big bill coming.
Unlike the 600 which was about an hour to fit.

07' SL65, 04' E55, 03' Evo8, 08' GSXR, DSM's...
You must have bought a 07'- 08'? Like me, i learned that it was much more difficult than the way they are on the pre 07' cars, which is what the DIY thread on here is from. No where near the same on the 07'-08' cars like what we have. VERY time consuming and ***** to do because of its location. It CAN be done through the driver's side fog light cover in the bumper if you have some specialty tools but is still a PITA. I recently removed my new Johnson CM30 pump from my 65 and installed the newer Bosch 010 pump (my car already had this updated pump from the factory but had already bought the Johnson for it so swapped out anyways as preventative maintenance). Make sure the system is bled all the way. Mine still had air in the system which was causing my IC cooling system to get pretty damn hot. I was not sure if i had a dead pump or if it was air, so swapped in the Bosch pump, got it bled out all the way this time, and noticed a nice difference.
Just for anyone reading this. I will also post some stuff in the "cooling down the V12TT thread", but with the little air i still had in the system my intercoolers were reading around 190 degrees F after a quick pull or two and would hover right around there for quite a while even after normal driving. After changing the pump again, and thoroughly bleeding it a little differently this time, they now read around 120 degrees F after some pulls.

it is 30 minutes for the front bumper to be dropped.
30 minutes for the pump (you should have gone with a stock upgraded bosch - direct replacement)
30 minutes to replace bumper
30 minutes to bleed the system
working through the fog light? only if my other hobby is gynecology.
