On my CL, we also run the stock H/E (located between the radiator) in series with the aftermarket lower. So , outlet line from stock H/E will not go into the second H/E inlet side and second H/E outlet will go back into the inlet side of the pump (same pump inlet stock H/E ran into). If your SL , just has a stock lower H/E, then I would change it out for one giant single H/E .

MBWorld Fanatic!
Why Bosch , I fitted a Johnson, on a 600, what a difference with more power
and no loss after you punished it.
I am sure your going to get more hot air with the cone filters, the stock
maybe more constrictive but less hot. Maybe K&N flat filters in the stock
air box. I am just fitting the stock filter box with K&N flat and taking off my
cone filter on a Cosworth after experimenting, I got det with the cone but
not with the stock box, and I have an enormous intercooler.
