You guys are the experts here.. I am a brand new MBZ owner. I was looking at replacing the grille on my Black 03 SL55 and came across these on Ebay.

The seller has great feedback and the prices seem very reasonable.

Any thoughts?

i personally would do the first one. i believe so much in this, that i purchased one, painted the shiny parts black, and now have it for sale.
let me know if interested. there is only about 300 miles on it.

i only fall in love for a short time, then move on. my current car status required the new year grill fitment. same style though.

just looked on ebay and ya, $180 shipped for new is hard to bargain with. after boxing it again and shipping, it might be a better abstract art thing on the wall. lol
i did just find a perfect box though to fit it in. let me know what the total is worth to you, and lets see if we can make it happen.

I have had both of those & yes as OZ said the first one is better BUT I have recently gone back to my OEM that I had color matched to my car... best look IMHO. I think the single fin is played out honestly after a while it just didn't look right to me on my car. It is really all just your personal preference though... see below & you be the judge

Yep, I agree with going with the OEM and painting it to match the car.

I did the single fin thing on my SL600, but every time I looked at old pictures of my SL55 with the black painted grill I couldn't help but think it looked "better".

I have since gone back to the stock grill (painted black, but left the chrome star untouched).
