What kinda shape are my wheels in?
Recently I bought a sweet 05 sl65 beast. In addition to the BBS-GT wheels on the car, the seller gave me the original OEM wheels. They look great; however, how do I verify their condition? Specifically, since I understand they are susceptible to bending, how can I be sure of their condition?

Depending on how much effort or proof you are looking for there are 3 ways I can think of from cheapest to most expensive which also follows suit with accuracy. (1, 2 are assuming you have tires on them)
1. Mount them on the car and drive them for a while see how they feel. Check pressure manually if the tire pressure sensors are dead. Give them at least a few hundred miles, in case they have flat spots depending on how they were stored. ($ free if you have a jack)
2. Take them to a shop to have road force and re-balance. If they are way off they will tell you. $20-$35 per wheel.
3. Take them to a local wheel straighter who can measure if they are out of round and straighten them if needed. $175-225 per wheel maybe little to no charge if very close to straight.
You may have different prices but that is what I dealt with in NY

I had all of the OEM wheels professionally trued, balanced and new TPMS installed when I got them as they were slightly bent. This is the reason I bought the BBS wheels to use while the OEM wheels were being repaired and never swapped back to the OEM wheels as I liked the BBS look better.
