Consumer Battery SL55

I have a 2003 Sl55 which I keep in underground parking at work during the week. If i miss a weekend and leave it for say 2 weeks the consumer battery runs down meaning central locking fails. I can get in using the blade on the key and the starter battery is never a problem, and after a while things return to normal. It is though quite annoying.
However this time the SRS warning light came on and has stayed on, I guess this is related to the consumer battery running down ?

I read that all Ferraris have a battery kill switch (similar to those on racing cars) so their owners can switch off while the car is in storage.
Would it be possible to fit one on my SL ?
The guy who answerd the phone at my MB dealership says yes, but just pull the lead off the battery, a mechanic iI know says no, isolating the consumer battery will damage the cars systems.

Does anybody know the answer or have any tips ? MY first post so help appreciated.

I should point oout at this stage there is no power or natural light available in the garage for any type of trickle charge.

you can put a kill switch on the consumer battery. you will lose all memory functions and convenience features, but you can certainly do it.

however, two weeks run-down is a good indication that your consumer battery is approaching its end of life. a good consumer battery should last a month or even more.

the starter battery is even more long-lived

Thanks Alx, maybe I should try a new battery
before fitting a switch.

The car is due in with MB anyway, hopefully they can also check to see if there is any excess rundown draining they system.

By memory functions I assume you mean seats etc and that convenience features would re-set to factory settings ?

SRS is part of the supplemental restraint system. Hopefully the light will go off after awhile. If it does not, you may want to pull codes. I'm not sure if most dealers are kind enough to do it for free. Most auto parts houses will. You could then post up the code and someone should be able to help.

I can tell you I had an SRS issue that turned out to be a wiring harness under the passenger seat if I recall correctly. Seems to me it is a fairly common issue.
