Can the center and door trims on my 03 SL55 be polished until they are mirror like?

It feels like they're metal (probably aluminum) and they are textured a bit.
Just not sure if I can sand/polish/clearcoat them.

Not sure, but chrome plating might be another option; you can plate almost anything.

the metal trim is painted with texture paint. it would have to be removed then polished. the pressure would probibly bend and distort them before you could get them finished. try painting them a different color.
