SL55 belt noise
Hello all,
I have just bought a 2003 SL55 and it had a squeaky belt. I have read all the posts about the supercharer chirp but this squeak is pretty constant and not just when pulling away.
The noise is coming from a belt located in the NSF of the engine bay (not the main timing belt) and seems to be running some kind of ancillary? Could someone confirm if this is the same problem as everyone else's? Im not mechanically minded but cant see this having anything to do with the supercharger?
Apologies for going over old ground but just want confirmation as to what this belt does and if its a common problem.

Porsche guy who drives SL63 w/ perf pkg AND perf suspension
may be the SC pulley which is the cause of the SC chirp you hear about. It may be totally bad and squeeling all the time. I think it is that or another pulley.

Spray a tiny amount of silicone on the inside of belt while running- I usually aim in the belt groove of one of the upper pulleys- does the squeak go away? If it does- it is the belt. If it does not- it is one of your pulleys.

2007 MB SL55 AMG
I had a windey noise, which sounded like a power steering pump going south. Took it to a great MB shop, and they discovered a chunk (Looked like a bite out of the pulley) of the pulley broke off. $1,400 later it solved the noise problem.
