2004 SL55 AMG Kompressor

Check Engine Light and P2003

Have the secondary air injection fault code. pump runs, and shuts off as it should...should it run intermittently too? any suggestions?

Mine went down and I just replaced it.

But, to the best of my knowledge it runs when the engine is cold for 90 seconds and that's it.

Well, I have cleared the code a few times, and it keeps returning, so it wasn't an isolated event. I heard the pump kick on when the car started, the it fired up about 10 mins later, after idling for a few mins in a drive through...what commands the pump on?
