Oops what did I do now!

I caught my paddle shifter in my 2007 SL55 tonight on my shorts as was getting out of the car. It seems to have popped out of the steering column. Not sure how to get it back in or if its broken in some way? maybe someone could share how to get it back in there. Was panicking but think see can buy a replacement for pretty cheap and would just need the up paddle.

And heard it was easy with a couple of torx screwdrivers?? Like said if anyone can link how to fix this from the service dvd would be very grateful.
Pm or email is fine also.

I don't think its broken as can still upshift if press on the button ,

Porsche guy who drives SL63 w/ perf pkg AND perf suspension
they are screwed in from the inside. You take the horn pad off and the screw is in there. I dont know what you broke.

If you post a pic of the backside of your dis-located paddle, we can confirm if it is broken. Chances are that you broke off the cast-in boss that accepts the mounting screw (making it UN-useable/unrepairable)

I don't know what the prices are for the R230 part number of this paddle, but as a set the A1712670046 paddle which will fit) is $110 including shipping (and is the BEST price for a pair).

the 2 screws securing your airbag are T30 (torx).

DON'T turn the car on with the airbag removed .... this will cause a fault code that can only be cleared by the dealer (or someone with an SDS).

Cheers,
Chris
