Roof problems
About 2 weeks ago I noticed that my power latch that closes the trunk quit working. No biggie, I really don't need to be in the trunk that often so it can wait a month or two until inspection is due. But yesterday the top quit working. Luckily it's up. But when you try to put it down you get a message to "visit workshop." Are these two problems related? And is there some thing that I can do on my own, or do I have to take it to MB? And if so, what kind of repair bills am I looking at?

No. The latch is air operated. Your latch is cracked and leaking air thus rendering it inoperable. You can glue it if you find the leak or get a new one. You can confirm the problem by resetting the air pump and see if the trunk will work for another short period of time.
The vario roof is motor/ hydrauilics operated.

). Ive had this car nearly two years and Im seeing what everyone is talking about. They're great cars...when they work!
