Hey guys I'm new here. I just bought a 2009 SL63 AMG. I was wondering if anyone here is running an aftermarket exhaust? If so what brand is it? I want to get a more aggressive noise but I don't want it to drone or be too obnoxious in the cabin. Thanks

you can try renntech or MBHmotorsports- they make long tube headers and other exhaust parts. They prove big hp increase on dyno but they are expensive. for any hp increase yu need ecu programing and air intake improvements. its expensive for all these benz parts so no use doing anything unless you do it right.

Thanks for the responses, but I wanted to hear from owners who actually have an aftermarket exhaust on their car. So I could find out the noise level, if there is droning, things like that.

I modified my stock exhaust... changed to sport cats and straight pipe!

New sound is awesome...and performance gains too!

If you are worried about droning leave it as it is. The 2009 230 SL63 has the
best and loudest stock exhaust already.

The factory system is best, it has been tuned to a higher frequency to
eliminate inside droning/booming . Also the aftermarket system has more
3rd harmonics distortion.

Also you are comparing the exhaust note from a bi turbo 2013 SL63 which
sounds different to your 2009 Nat *** SL63.
