Hi folks, just got dreaded news that I've got suspension problems on my 2002 SL55 AMG.
Mercedes quoted for repairs but wanted to ask what you guys thought of the quote (which includes vat & fitting)
Here's their diagnosis:
Suspension struts both sides on front - bottom ball joints worn £3004.80

Torque strut ball joint N/S worn/split £457.80

Lower hub ball joint both sides worn/damaged £267.60

seems about right
an independent shop would charge a lot less.

I am very new to sl55 amg ownership but that is a huge bill what mileage has the car done?

How much less would you expect an independent to be? They didn't give me the split between parts & labour unfortunately.
Mileage is around 70k

Rebuilt and guaranteed for life at half the cost of OEM. Have an independent shop do the work and save a ton of $$.
