I think it would look better with an all black grill (keep the star chrome)
I think it would look best with the original grill (3 or 4 slat depending on year) painted black (with a chrome star).

Nice job, now all you have to do is update the Running light with a T10 LED bulb to color match the DRL LED's. What about pics of the Rear bumper?

I updated the front bumper without changing the bubble lights...
the less were mounted to the grill with screws and clips.
then i updated to the 2009 SL65 conversion, front and back...which i currently have.
I will be considering selling all the pieces off because I will doing the Black Series Sl65 in 2 months, and will be selling off the 2009-2012 SL65 pieces, all while keeping my vented hood.
I will be selling the front bumper, both fenders, rear valance with diffuser, and rear bumper. If you have the 2003-2008 year run, you will need the headlights for the conversion.
