Custom Stereo installation in SL55 AMG
I recently purchased an SL55 AMG and was really disappointed in the factory stereo system. I LOVE the car, but the factory stereo system was not worthy of the AMG Mercedes by any stretch of the imagination. I have been a fan of car audio since 1985 and have done many installations myself over the years, but I wanted a truly professional job for an amazing car. So, I turned to the pros at www.simplicityinsound.com in California. I initially contacted one of the partners at SiS and peppered him with questions over a several month period. He answered every single one promptly (and this is before he knew I would be a customer or what kind of car I had).
I gave him a budget and what my expectations were. I cannot say enough about the quality of work, customer service, and attention to details these guys put into their installs. I would not hesitate recommending them to anyone. They will work with whatever budget you have.
My instructions were:
I didn't want a "flashy" install. I did not believe that was becoming of an SL55 AMG. I wanted the install to appear like it came from the factory. BUT, not just any factory install, like it came from the Mercedes AMG custom shop. I wanted it to blend in with the car, but when people realized what it was, I wanted them to have the wow factor. I did not want an aftermarket dash kit to be used with the head unit. I wanted everything to be custom, but have a factory appearance. Since this is a convertible, I wanted to have a strong bass response even with the top down.
The sound is amazing. I now have the pleasure of driving a 500+ HP concert hall on wheels!![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
