SBC pump year/model compatibility
It appears that the same sbc pump is being used for all r230 platforms regardless of year or model. can anyone verify this?
Looking at a used one that was pulled out of an 09 sl63 to put into an 03 sl55.

I bought a SBC unit off of eBay from a Mercedes Master Tech, he said it was off of a 09 SL550 and it should work fine for my 04 SL55. the units appear to be the same. However I havent installed mine yet, been trying to figure out how I am going to bleed it. Bought a brake tool that reads SBC codes, activates and deactivates but the bleed function errors out when I select it.

for anyone looking at this later down the road the sbc pump numbers have been superseded about a dozen times. So there's a wide range of part numbers out there for the sbc unit.
That said heres a link with a complete break down of what parts fit what cars.

If you dig into the assembly diagrams you can also see where they offer both new and re manufactured parts. As its typically the pump reservoir that goes out on the sbc you can pick up just that piece by itself and save quite a bit of money versus buying a whole new unit.

I realize this is a year later, but how can you tell if it's the reservoir or the pump? Do you have to buy both?
