Used Pano Roof Panel?
Anyone ever change a non-pano car over with a used pano roof? It would seem that it wouldn't be a big deal mechanically. What are the chances of finding a pano roof (top section) used?

There was one on *-bay last week for around $2,300. I've thought the same thing as you as I search for a car. Can't be all that difficult. Just need to get the side rails painted.

I bet they show up in scrap yards from time to time. I don't believe the roof panel changed through the entire run of the R230 all iterations of the car. I've been half-hardheadedly looking for one since I bought my SL last July. I have a good friend whose family is in the business and has access to databases all over the country. When I get serious I'll call him to find one.
I checked on this a few months ago swap out looks quite easy. Remove headliner and it looks like it's just a few torx bolts that hold the roof panel to the top frame. Also be sure to get the screen if you do find one. I bet that's expensive if you have to buy it separately.
Pano is the only option my SL didn't have that I really wanted.
