No picture is necessary. Starting at the ABC reservoir, I installed ~2" of a 1/2" reinforced rubber hose using the OE clamp (you could cut off ~2" of the OE hose, but it's going to be a real tight fit, and I wanted something that would allow easy removal of the Magnefilter if/when I wanted to replace it). Then, I slipped a 1/2" Norma clamp on the hose, and inserted the 'out' connection of the Magnefilter and tightened up both hose clamps.
Then, I marked the OE hose coming up the front of the engine bay where it would fit best on the inlet side. Cut the OE hose there, and slipped on a second Norma clamp, inserted the inlet nipple into the hose (it's gonna' be tight) until I got it nearly to the enlarged filter part. Tightened both Norma clamps and checked the fluid level - it was at correct level. I checked it again after a few minutes of engine running, and the level was still OK (engine 'aus' in both cases - for at least 15-20 minutes).
Regular hose clamps would probably be OK, but I like the Norma type, as they - like the OE clamps do not have any open 'slots' to cut into the rubber.
PS: Even though you asked twice, i'm only posting one response.
I recently saw some posts about the Magnom inline filter. The great thing about this filter is that you dont have to replace it. you simply take it apart and are able to clean the metal out of the filter and reuse. This way you are able to see if you have any metal flowing thru. Works great!
I too thought it would be a good filter. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it for a 1/2 inch (12 mm) hose. Only listed 3/4" and 1 1/4". Seems pretty big and perhaps heavier than the Magnefine filter. Thus, selected the Magnefine for installation. At $15 per unit (eBay), it's not very expensive to replace.
I'll pull and replace it after about 4K miles or so (probably 2 years) and cut it up to see if it's trapped any particles.
Hmm, at over $900 including shipping, I think I think it is cost effective to replace the Magnafine filter. I'd need to replace it over 60 times to 'break even'!!

If you are going to be active in the 'car' community, you will probably need to become better friends with Google, or some other search engine. If you put 1/2" Magnafine filter in the eBay search, you'll come up with the product. As a one time help, here is the link:
It has been 11 1/2 years since i installed mine, shortly after completely purging the 11 year old OE hydraulic fluid and replacing it with new MB specified fluid. After about 30K miles, my fluid is still green and looks the same as the day I installed it. The OE I flushed was pretty dark, but not black, and the car had 45 miles on it. I still recommend the Magnefine filter!!!
I did the install and swapped in a new OEM MB filter as well. I'll let this setup perk for a bit and then fluid swap, my existing appears to be in good shape but I do want a fresh start. That hose is joy to work with, I broke a cap getting it off and then had to warm the hose up to get the magnetic filter in. Yes I like beefy clamps lol but that fit is so tight you really don't need them.

I just did the fluid change..... 1st time in 22 years! I bought the whole lifetime fluid thing.
Fluid was black (hard to believe). It took about 20 mins and 7 liters before it turned a nice clear, green.
The whole process was pretty easy.

Its been a few weeks since I did the service and I've noticed something positive. Over the past 7 years I noticed a trend that if the car sat for more than a week, it would sag on one side or the other. Since the ABC fluid change I haven't driven it for almost 2 weeks and its still nice and level!
