Oh man, I thought I was a smart man, but this 08 SL55 is challenging me. I have searched, googled and none of the procedures seem to work. I just had the oil changed and they did not reset my service A. It says Service A due in 13 days. Is the 2008 a different animal? I want to reset it for 5000 miles.
I have searched and googled until my fingers bleed....LOL

you have to go into the FSS menu in the cluster to confirmed all the work performed or you can do it via STAR DAS.

you cannot "reset for 5000" via the cluster. it can be done via das .Originally Posted by Startech

to reset service indicator you need to have the instrument cluster on "mileage", key on position two and press the "r" button three times fast. voltage should be displayed. figure out the rest. you need to "confirm service" as shardul mentioned.
Should help get you started;

Thanks everyone. I was able to get to the FSS menu, but could not ever get a reset option for service. Then yesterday, I was able to figure it out by putting the key to pos 2 and navigate the steering controls and R Button until I got the option to reset. After so many tries, I really dont remember how I found it. But it is done for another 10000 miles.
Thanks for the replies.

Process still works (2004 SL55). Make sure you put the key fob into the dash slot and turn two detents to right (so all dash lights come on). Then toggle to service warning, push/hold reset for up to 10 seconds (mine happened in about 4-5 seconds) and then release and push again to confirm (message will confirm).
