19-inch Wheel Size
Hello Guys,
Few months ago I have replaced my rims and installed 19-inch rims, I bought tires with those sizes:
Front: 255/40/19
Rear: 275/40/19
Are those sizes fine? If not, how do they affect the car?
Regards,

The SL63 with those wheels have these tire sizes
Front axle 255/35 ZR19 96Y XL (Extra Load) MO1
Rear axle 285/30 ZR19 98Y XL (Extra Load) MO1
I also checked stock tires/wheels for a 2003 SL55. Your stock tire sizes are:
Front Axle 255/40 R18
Rear Axle 285/35 R18
Stock wheels are 8.5" Front and 9.5" inch rears, so assuming the same front 30mm and rear 33mm offsets, there is no difference in clearance with your new wheels or tires. There is a pretty big difference in the diameter, which will primarily impact your speedometer/odometer. I'm not sure if it impacts performance in any other way.
If you use the tire and wheel calculator at this link https://mbworld.org/forums/tire_rim_calculator.php it will give you the variance.
In this case, the front axle is off 1" in diameter, or about -3.8% from your stock tire. The rear axle is worse, being 1.81" off or 6.99%.
If you had used 35's on the front and 30's on the rear, there would have been no change in overall diameter on the front, and minimal on the rear (0.5%), so no impact.
