Transmission tube cap removal?

Before I bought my car, they were supposed to do oil and tranny fluid change. 425 miles later, I find I am 1.8 qts low on oil. Now I am concerned about the tranny change and just want to dip a long zip tie down to check the condition of the tranny fluid to find out if they really did the work.

I already broke that little tab off, so now I am forced to ask.....

How the heck do you get that tranny cap off?

if you break the tab, youve already ruined it so you need to buy a new cap, after you get the new one see how it clips and you can pry the old cap off with small screwdriver

when you break the red tab use a small screw driver to push the remaining portion down and then the cap will come off. after checking the level you can slide the cap on and drive without any problems.

you will need a special dip stick tool the measure. or you can put a long zip tie and post the length of the fluid when the car is cold and i will look on dip stick i have and tell you if it is right.

After breaking the tab off I used a thin flat blade screw driver to push the remaining pin down and out of the cap. The piece fell harmlessly to the ground and the cap came right off-no prying. The cap then snapped right back in place and I don't plan to replace it as it seems like a snug enough fit. My fluid measured 3 and 1/8th inches.
