What Year For Used SL63
Looking at purchasing a used SL63. Don't want anything special, no mods, etc., just a stock car that hasn't been wrecked.
I would like some advice on what is a good model year to purchase, when considering the price to performance ratio. For example, I reviewed the forums and it seems to me people prefer the R231. So does that mean I should be looking at 2012 and later years?
I was hoping to spend a bit less than used 2012 prices, but am now wondering if I would be satisfied with such a purchase. So I am interested in whether there are any particular model years that provide good performance, can be had for a great price.
Was also looking at used SLS, but they haven't come down enough in price for my liking.
I am sensitive to price not because we can't afford it, but because depreciation really bothers me. I know, I know, pay to play. Am simply looking for the sweet spot where a current MBenz automotive dollar buys a nice AMG ride at a competitive price.
(We already own an E350, purchased new, been a great car, zero problems, impressed with it and we will own it until it falls apart.)

Porsche guy who drives SL63 w/ perf pkg AND perf suspension
All the SL63s are the same, except if you get one with the performance pkg, you will get limited slip, biggest brakes, sportier trans/suspension programs, delimited speed to 186
Youll have to decide if you want a higher performance SLS or not

Which 63 do you want, 6.3 nat aspirated from 2008 to 2012, or the
2012-2014 5.5 bi-turbo. The nat *** will be much cheaper, the later one is current so expect to pay more. I have had both, the nat *** one is the best
looking imo, but the 5.5 bi turbo is faster by a fair bit, and then you can tune it easily for over 600 bhp. Good Luck.
