SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: My Silver Arrow SL63 1 of 100
#26
You are not getting the point. The world Silver Arrows comes from the race
cars back in the 50's and earlier. Sure there are silver arrows for sale, but
I never seen one for sale in a MB dealer. None of your links are MB dealers,
look carefully. So what's the big deal, a 2009 SL63 which was the worse SL
made, technically that is, in a shiny silver and muddy red interior. What
do you get that's special, maybe F1 performance no: rolf: you get a badge.
And Mercedes makes a packet, with the extra you pay you could get it re painted any colour and re trimmed and on a 2013 SL63.
Sorry I am not impressed.

Who cares if you're impressed or not. It's not cool to belittle the OP's car just because (you say) it's not your taste or wouldn't own it yourself. The Silver Arrow is a well known (to enthusiasts) Special Edition that transcends several SL generations. Who cares if you've never heard of it? That somehow doesn't make it real? LOL! Your comments reek more of jealousy for the OP's limited edition SL. If that's not the case than it's simply a lack of class.
The silver arrow is a well known special edition.. wrong.
The Mercedes Silver Arrow is a well known race car, ..correct
I am only trying to stop someone spending a heap of cash for something
pretty irelevent
So I phoned a few mates who work for Mercedes sales. Guess what, you can
order a SL in the same bright silver and reddy brown interior. But it's not
a silver arrow and doesn't have a badge, in fact he had a picture of a new 2013 SL63 in this livery. He sent me this picture from a MB sales room.
Sorry about the quality.

SL63 Silver Arrow
Thanks for all those who liked the car. I'm sorry if never heard of it or if it didn't meet their taste standards. It's an edition offered only in the year 2009 when the SL63 first was launched.
I'm very happy with the car. It has a heavenly sound and a very decent NA performance. Maybe some of you guys have better rides and more exclusive, but my ride puts a smile on my face every time I drive it and that what matters, I guess

Enjoy your ride, you have a very nice car, it's well known that the 2009 SL63
is my favourite shape, and your right, the exhaust sound is sublime and
knocks the spots of the bi turbo SL, I am in the process of fitting round tail
pipes to my car joined to the exhaust, I hope it sounds like my first SL63.
I have only heard of Silver Arrows racing cars, and in my life I never heard
of Silver Arrows road cars, I thought it was a scam, and should be warned
about it, so sorry if I upset you. The Irony was they had chosen the least
powerful SL to fit it to, with silver arrows racing heritage I thought it would have a big power hike to go with the name, clearly it's called Silver Arrows
for the looks, shame the monitor doesn't do it justice.
Hopefully one day I will see one,

Beautiful car sir. I'm sure that in bright direct sunlight or under fluorescent lights, the paint looks almost like liquid
I just picked up a 2009 Diamond White SL63 with the Berry Red interior a few weeks ago too.
Does anyone know why some SL63s have the middle part of the front bumper painted black and some don't? Was this an option or something?

It is down to taste, I preferred mine with a thin line of paint, and I preferred
it. So it's not painted black, that's how it comes, it's up to you if you want
it painted. Here is mine with a painted edge Paladium Silver.

Heh, can you get a Silver Arrows badge, especially on the boot lip.
Something as precious as this deserves a SA badge. If it were me I would
make one, is real silver.

OP, please ignore our resident village idiot, better known as "Sound 8". You have a super nice ride and most enthusiasts do know of the "Silver Arrow Edition", and that they are very limited indeed.

Hee Haa Hoo you guys are really easy to wind up
Any way if you got a Siler Arrow why not shout about it.
There is nothing to show other drivers you got something special,
how many take off their AMG badges...........more like how many put AMG
on to Stock cars.
