Best mods for traction?

What mods will help the most to put the power down to the pavement? Currently when I hit the gas in my SL600 the rear feels like it sways a lot. It makes it feel very unsafe to launch hard without getting sideways.

I've read about toe links and adding a LSD (quaife). Are those the only mods that will help other than a good set of tires? Also where's the best place to buy each one?

Thanks

LSD makes a huge difference its worth the money to spend, you hook a lot better and don't have your tires spinning out as much.

Toe Links help the fish tail issue and its good to have, even with all my mods and an LSD I'll still fish tail at 80 mph when I downshift and then get on WOT.

LSD, Toe Links and Tires are pretty much all you can do for traction on these cars. Your SL can get all these upgrades but I don't think anyone makes Toe Links for your CL

Thanks, wheres the best place to get the toe links? I've seen renntech makes them and there is MB Arts. Theres a big price difference from what I've seen but I've also read some less than positive things about MB Arts and there products helm joints having issues.

Are there any other options for toe links?

My CL is much easier to launch but doesn't fishtail anywhere near as much but still has issues. Would an LSD help much with with it?

Has anybody with an SL55 installed the Quaife V2 LSD? If so, what are your thoughts as I think this will likely be my first mod.

Thanks

'94 SL600,'05 SL600,'06 S65,'07 E63,'14 E63S,'09SL600 all sold, ‘15 S65,‘18 E63S,'17 SL65, '17S65Cab
I have never owned an AMG55 so I cannot comment on that model. I currently have a 2009 SL600, 2015 S65 and a 2017 SL65. All 3 are stock. I used to have a 2005 SL600 and a 2006 S65, both Eurocharged tuned. All are of course traction challenged. The stock 2009 was faster than the stock 2005 but after the 2005 was tuned it was then much faster. Interestingly the 2005 hooked up better, I attribute that to slightly stickier 18" tires rather than 19" or 20". The factory rear tire pressures were too high as well, I had to lower them for best traction. On the 18" it was 30psi, 34psi on the 19's and 36 to 38 on the 20's. This will likely vary a bit with tire brand and rating. The New SL65 has (Y) rather than the standard Y rated tires. These seem to have stiffer sidewalls and a harsher ride.
The new SL65 has a factory LSD as well as the 7 SP transmission. This car is seriously fast even compared to the tuned SL. The main difference the LSD makes is that it minimizes the traction control interference, making the car faster. Based on my limited experience I would definitely recommend an LSD, unfortunately I have no experience with a Quaife retrofit.

I'm running 335's in the rear. Seems to help after 60 mph.
