2003 CL55 AMG
SL55 In California !

I was at Calabasas Mercedes to in Calabasas, CA and saw a 2003 SL55 ! I first thought this may be one of the Euro Spec cars converted to US Spec. It wasn't however. It was a US Spec car that someone just took delivery of ! I will ask some questions and try to find out more.

So much for SL55 engine problems delaying delivery. I don't know how this particular owner managed to take delivery of the SL55 5 months before the oiffical US release. It was pretty sweet !!! Silver/charcoal ..

In my opinion, that is impossible. I guarntee that it is a Euro Spec car that was imported. Check the front bumber for the euro plate holes.

awiner, after you saw this SL55 AMG did you remember eating a huge marshmellow and when you woke up your pillow was gone.

Prone to any hallucinations and delusions of grandeur?

Picked and eaten any wild mushrooms?

That will be $200 for this therapy session!

yup - i'd bet money it's a euro car. they have imported some already.

if it's at the dealership, check the dash VIN through the window. if the 8th digit is an "A" that's a LHD car for the North American market. i'll bet it's a "B" though (LHD Europe).

Yup, Euro chassis numbers are differently formated.
If its a Euro, it will be

WDB230474xyNNNNNN

230 being a SL
474 being the '55 "convertable"
x normally is 2 (dunno what it means)
y is the factory that built it, each factory has a range, F is definetly used in Europe, I thought A was aswell, but not sure
and the remaining are the unique number

I thing the yNNNNNN bit are the same on the US cars, maybee the xyNNNNNN
