5g-tronic (722.6) transmission issues please help
Hi guys just bought a SL65 last week , took her out for a spin on the weekend and looked in my rear view all I could see was smoke, then car went into limp mode. Drove the car home looked under it and its definitely transmission fluid leak, the oil was spitting out and now the car has no oil , or a little, refilled it up yesterday to find where the leak was and it looks like its coming out of the bell housing , mechanics today told me it could be a number of these (front shaft main seal, or pump seal, or several) , I got it scanned and it shows P0715 , which is a speed sensor issue, however after reading many of peoples posts on here seems that the P0175 error code can be from either a faulty conductor plate that is prone to these transmissions being faulty, or it could be the electrical connector plug which is "very dry", other P0175 can also be from just the low oil in the transmission , which I'm thinking it is. But my question is this, I don't want to go spend money on a speed sensor, conductor plate , front seal, or pump. Is there a way to test the conductor plate if faulty , and speed sensor? also what are peoples thoughts on the leak, Initially the night it happened I thought it was the plug harness , but like previously mentioned it is very dry and doesn't seem contaminated with oil , or damaged.
