Survey !

I have been asked by MB to fill out a survey on the quality of service
you get. They had the cheek to ask me to put at least 9 out of ten as it
helps their promotion. Basically I don't think much of their service, for
instance they just done some work, spark plug change, and ic pump
change, and change brake fluid. According to them a total of three and
a half hours work. So why did they keep it for 2 days.
The only worry is if you give a low score could the service get worse.

My first recommendation: find a good, trustworthy indy! My indy has several MB techs that have years of working in the stealership world; they're experienced and have a solid network that allows them to call if they get stumped by a issue.
My second recommendation: tell the truth. If they suck...they suck. If they don't...they don't. Just be honest; it may improve their service.
My third recommendation: find a good, trustworthy indy!

Never use an MB Dealer for servicing unless I have a new car on warranty. Never know who is doing the work. Could be an 18 year old apprentice. Rather deal with specialist Indy who has MB trained techs and who you can build a relationship with.

Indy is short for Independant Specialist who is not a dealer but will normally have dealer trained mechanics. I live in Surrey and use PCS but there are quite a few spread around the UK.

Sorry...should have spelled it out initially.
My indy has two MB trained mechanics each with over 12 years experience as well as a couple of newbies that have several years MB experience. Over the years they have become friends of the family and take great car of my cars. In addition to getting that personal touch, they are very reasonably priced...so much so, on numerous occasions they have charged nothing for quick repairs.
Plus, they remain in good stead with the local MB stealerships and aren't hesitant to ask them if they are uncertain with what to do about an issue. To me, that's so important...honesty. Like all of us, we find ourselves over our heads from time to time; I have no prob whatsoever with someone who admits they are uncertain. It's the know-it-alls that scare me!
