Love my new paddle shifters

Hey all,

Been doing a couple of things lately and one of them was to change out the manual shift buttons for paddle shifters. I could not get used to them and found them almost like an afterthought from the factory so with the help of Chris Messmer at Roos Instruments, I now have real shifters.

Here are a couple pictures I took last night.

Really makes a huge difference when using manual mode. It's so much easier to change even when you're turning.

Thinking of doing this on mine. Was considering changing the wheel but works out quite expensive.

Based in UK so will need to get it done here. Have found a place that I think offers to do this. These are the links.

http://www.commandonline.co.uk/amg_paddle_shifter.html

http://www.commandonline.co.uk/paddl...er-module.html

Assume this is similar to what you used?

I'm not really sure John. Why don't you PM Chris and see if he ships to the UK? He sent me the wheel complete, I had it changed in the car and sent back the old one.

They look great. Are they weighted and can you feel a difference?

That is the same module.
I am the manufacturer of the module and Commandonline.co.UK is one of my distributors (great outfit by the way).

here in the states the module is available from forum sponsor DCTmotorsports (among others)

John, One option you have (that is convenient where you are) is buying a newer OE mercedes wheel from this ebay vender that comes with the paddles installed and then adding the "paddle converter module" to make it work in your car. (buy the module from comandonline)

Yes, they are brushed aluminum I think. Very similar feel to my Quatroporte.

It's been a couple weeks now since I had the wheel changed and what a pleasure the car is to drive in manual mode now. I don't have to fumble around anymore with the little buttons anymore, the paddles are solid and a hell of an improvement. For a little money, you get a completely different driving experience IMHO. Another shout out to Chris for all your help. I really appreciate it.
