Need Help with my SL55 amg
Hi guys,
New to this forum, but I am having quite a bit of trouble With my 2007 sl55 amg. In the past week the car has turned off on me twice while driving. And by turning off I mean completely losing all power. Before I take it to the dealership I want to get at least somewhat of an idea of whats going on. Also I just replaced both batteries a couple weeks ago, oem from m/b. Car only has 45k. Any input is appreciated it.

You no doubt have an electrical issue and those can get expensive. As a shop owner I can tell you an intermittent problem can be like chasing a ghost. I would check the ECM connections first. And the keyless go and ignition switches.

I also have an '07, but with a lot more miles. Never had that problem, but my wife's ML recently died on her twice and she lost all power. Turned out to be a defective valve in the fuel rail.

Crank position sensor could be the problem. At the back of the engine, below the intake (MAF). Not real easy to get to I understand, but I have a new one in my inventory I'll probably install this winter - '03 with 49.6K
I've seen postings where pouring cold water on it resulted in the car starting promptly. Not sure I'd do that!

Most likely the cam position sensor or crank position seņor. I had the exact same problem and replaced my Crank position sensor and problems solved. Go on ebay or partsgeek dot com. they have them for sale for $56 (crank sensor).

alot of times when you replace the battery you get computer faults that have to be reset, if you had MB do it, no doubt they reset everything. but they could have not done it completely or not at all, and you didnt get any lights. Now some left over fault is showing up. Id take it back and tell them to recheck that.
