I have noticed a whirring noise the past few days. Almost sounds like box gears on an old truck. You can only hear it below about 30 MPH then the road noise covers it up or its gone. I thought it was the transmission as the noise changes pitch as the tranny shifts gears but if its in neutral and you rev the engine that noise is there.

I have only had the car for 3 months but do not recall hearing this noise before. Might have been cause I usually have the stereo on though.

Any help is much appreciated.

It may be the ABC pump.

Pretty sure it is the ABC pump. Good thing I have the extended warranty.
