Your car looks stunning, even the square tail pipes seem to go..
I would love a widebody kit on my 65, but I was told they are made of
fibre glass. In the UK fibre glass accessories are frowned on, it's got
to be carbon fibre or ABS to get that shine from metal. Perhaps the kits
vary on price, this one looks amazing . Don't ask how much it cost, it will
only make you cry..

AMG Fan...I'll bet that's true on the amount of CF in your 911...I'll bwt the RWB 930 build isn't cheap though! We aren't in it to cheap it out though, are we? LOL! If we could just get back all we put into our cars over the years...would be a pile of money! But alas...we have succombed to the automotive mod sicknes of which the only cure is to dump wheelbarrows of cash into our cars...hee!

I'm singing in the same choir! I've been lucky with my Porsche projects...I got my 993 Turbo back in 2012 right before the prices got ridiculous. I got into it at $70k and now probably same car would be asking for over $100k.

The 993 C2 cab for the Speedster project was in the low 20's which is a great deal...esp. for a car we stripped to nothing...

The RWB 930 Turbo I got for 100K...which given the current value of 930's and RWB's in general is a decent price.

The Porsche 911 market is bonkers now...

AMG Fan...yeah, especially what they get for the mid to late 1980's 911's in any kind of decent shape...even the nonturbos! It has gotten really crazy! I got my headlights working on my SL65 facelift part of the widebody, so this was our biggest concern to this point...rear fenders are going to be fun to cut and blend also... But its coming along slowly...good thing we have all winter! I also started another upgrade to my 1998 BMW M Roadster where I am adding a supercharger which should make it a really fun track car for next summer. It already handles unbelievably(like a go cart) and has had been lowered with racing suspension, 305's in the rear(Michelin Pilot Sports), and some really cool Chip Foose wheels that really make the car in my mind. I will try to get some pix up from it when I can. It should make about 350 HP when supercharged which should be really fun! I am still thinking about adding an oil cooler to it, but we'll see I guess.

I love it man, every time I see a BS or a facelift, I get excited! I wish I could see the look on the owners faces after all pieces are dry fitted on!

I am excited for the final product!

Thanks for the posts! I am sooo looking forward to the final product! The wheels are the sweet part of the deal. The rears are 14 inches wide and have a 9-inch deep dish outer lip on the barrel. The tires are Nitto Invo's at 345 wide, 20-inch wheels, and 25 profile.

Looks fantastic. Why did you go with 14" rear wheel out of interest? The 345mm tire would fit no problem on 13" or even 12".

I am looking to do some custom wheels for my wide body so very interested.

Just realized this is a complete hijack. Widebodymerc do you have a thread I can go to.

As long as its ok with AMGFan we can discuss it here and if noone objects...I don't have an original thread for my build as I am a newbie to this forum and am unsure how it works. Please let me know if its not ok to post here and I would love comments and critiques on the project.

As far as the wheels, I love love the bold look of these 14-inch giants! I may switch the rears to 375's that Pirelli makes at some point, but I like the look of the Nittos for now. I will try to keep posting pix as the project goes along further also.

Thanks for the heads up rockford! I had some I had some issues with the intercoolers last summer, but that is all fixed and we did an engine out service to replace the engine and tranny mounts last summer also(expensive year it was). The ABC pump has also been replaced, so all should be good (I hope anyways). Radiators all good with no leaks either. New exhaust last summer also. Thanks for your positive and insightful feedback!

Progress on Widebody!

Well, got most of the pieces in place except for the rear diffuser which is just not sized correctly. We had to cut and will then have to splice the pieces together to get proper fitment on this around the the exhaust tips(they are roughly taped in place for now). We did get the car down on all 4 wheels finally and it is really starting to take shape! We still have the lowering links to add, so it will be lower when done. Please give me your feedback and let me know what you think.

Looks good so far, the rear wheels seem to come out slightly further than the kit.

Yes they do...we are trying to figure that out, but I honestly don't mind the look...we'll see if further kit mods are needed here.
