SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Update on SL65 Engine Work
But if you were gonna do this I would assume you would need to do the transmission upgrade. Idk how the lag is on a GTX 42, but he def beefed up the trans and put a high stall torque converter so he could launch at 3200
The vendor that built the car before Phil got it was a former sponsor on the forum

Phil thinks since they manged to tune his set up right for the most part, that they must be doing something right so he wants them to do all the crazy stuff to it now. I'll prob call him when I get back from my business trip to Miami later in the week.

Beyond that, I (this is Jo) have come to know Phil pretty well recently, and we do talk and hang out socially. He asked me not to tell people what he was running, and I shook his hand over it, so I won't. I'm just happy to have him finally post some numbers!!
Oh ****....I wondered from the start that this is something mystical with this.
The race fuel I agree, however I think both need to be declared as being used. For 90% of us who are tuning our cars we will be using the highest pump gas we can find and tune for that. So I would like to be able to compare performance based on a similar grade fuel.

My thinking is that you are trying to fill the low end turbo lag with NOS which will make the car just another 1/4 junky. Throw in an electric motor to fill the low end and then you may have something.
