Gentleman, I have a 09 AMG SL63, when I drop it into reverse or drive, it slips slightly before taking off, I have only 5000 miles on it, have not really had time to drive it since I bought it for my wife 2 years ago w/ 4000 miles, I have already brought it to the dealer, the manager said that is how the the SL'S are set up? I have a hard time believing this? any help appreciated..

My transmission was also slipping slightly in 1st and reverse followed by a jolt. The dealer agreed that the slippage was excessive and reprogrammed the transmission with current software. Problem appears to be solved, at least for now. Work was done under extended warranty with no cost to me.

It's a thoroughbred that's why

the clutch and transmission were replaced on my '09 (under my extended warranty).
the hesitation shifting into first gear improved greatly, but was never as smooth as the pdk tranny on my 911.
