Just an admirer here...
I think the SL55 AMG is totally awesome!
I was at a Porsche dealer L.A. recently (I went to see the L.A. Auto show and car dealers) and they had a new 911 Turbo cab with an automatic, grey/grey, and some other options and wanted around $160,000!! They charged an additional $25,000! There was a new C4S cab with yellow/black with yellow stiching and yellow seat backs with a manual and some other stuff and it looked much better than Turbo cab right by it.
The Turbo cab doesn't hold together as well as the Turbo. It just doesn't look right. Plus, the engine is covered in plastic.
You SL55 AMG owners have one incredible car. It can do the daily drive and crash the supercar party.

Actually for 2004 dealers are not really discounting 996TT or cabs. Porsche is only building about 160 coupes this year and almost all are being sold MSRP. TT Cab are also going for MSRP, some dealers will offer maybe 2500 of is the car is in stock and not an order. ALl ordered cars are at MSRp.

MBWorld Fanatic!
It's interesting that about 50% of Porsche production is the Cayenne so it has just about saved their bacon commercially. It looks like the world is tiring of the current generation 996 and the Boxster. The 997 marks a welcome return to a harder sports car than the 996 which is a bit soft IMHO.

Don't believe everything you read!!
While I am sure there are some dealers are discounting if the car is in stock, most dealers are not. Most of the dealers offering discounts are small dealers who have been heavily affected from the economy located in the midwest. The big markets like FLorida,NY and Miami are all MSRP.
