Hubcentric spacers

I have not got plain spacers on my car, they are hubcentric, ,meaning they
bolt to the axle, and the wheel bolts to them. They are made from billet
aluminium so very strong, are these safe.

all spacers have to be hub centric for these cars, that is how the wheel is centered on the hub. you couldnt use a non hub centric spacer, it wouldnt be drivable. For the size spacer you are saying, it would have to be a bolt on. I would still check and make sure all the bolts are fitting right and are the right length. It sounds like it is the right parts, but having to use them isnt the way it should have been done. They should have gotten the right wheel for the situation

Personally, I would not trust spacers made from aluminium with the setup you describe. I would want the wheel bolts to go through the spacer and bolt to the hub. The chance of the bolt stripping the threads under load is in my mind too great.

How thick are the spacers? -front or back or both? I would recommend something like this for at least the front:

This will protect the hub bearing and make sure that you don't get dirt into teh bearing and grease and get premature wear.

The front spacers are 1" thick on the front, and 2.5" on the back. I was told
normal spacers are universal and cannot be hubcentric.

I am not sure about what that means? That you cannot get 1" hub centric spacers? That is not the case :

It gets a little more tricky with the rear spacers. I believe that the thickest one you can get is 50mm : http://www.performancealloys.com/spa...s.aspx?ID=1430
