Well as of yesterday, I guess I need to join this forum too. We've owned our E55 Wagon (the ultimate sleeper) for almost 8 years, but added a new toy to the family.
I traded by 996 Turbo (which I enjoyed for almost 7 years), for a 2005 SL65. I had been looking at 07-08, but a modestly priced, clean 05 was just too tempting.
Drove it home from Atlanta to the Tampa area yesterday, enjoying every minute of it.
The power is intoxicating, although just fractionally less immediate than the E55. It's incredibly comfortable, particularly when compared to the 911.
Now if my wife will just give it back.......
The upside is when she takes it, my fall back ride is an E55.
It isn't true without pics, so here are a couple truly terrible quick pics (with our family people mover in the back).

Congrats on the new ride, consider getting a tune, not only for a little extra power, but it gives the car a much better throttle response, that you will appreciate coming from the E55. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that green car off to the left is NOT the E55. Your wife tricked you so she can get more seat time in the SL. LOL lots of luck, enjoy.

youll find it similar in handling to a 911 except more comfortable, and probably alot more comfortable on the trip to Atlanta

Yes, tune the chip, you will love it much more. Best bang for the buck upgrade. Thinking of retiring soon, and need an SUV or wagon for trips. Didn't know E wagon had power. Will check those out, thanks.

Prices are coming down. Second one I saw in the mid-30s. Missed the first one.
They wanted $36, but it was a Porsche dealer and they my trade-in (996 Turbo), so they overpaid a bit for my trade.
Valued fairly, that made the SL65 about $33k.
71K miles, perfect interior and exterior (not a ding). Decent tires. Nothing needed. I suspect coil packs will be in the future, but that's expected.
Loving it.
