SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Horrible noise Help !

Horrible noise Help !
Whilst pulling away I could hear a metallic noise, couldn't see anything
underneath so I drove home, when I got home there was a sound like
a gunshot from under the back, or maybe air rifle as I was driving slow. I was in manual, and I know when you floor it in manual you get a his and a clunk when changing gear, however I was only going 10 mph when this noise happened. Has anybody with a mct gear box had the same. I dare not go out, it sounded like the gearbox exploding.

See if applying the brakes while rolling changes noise
Also,try your parking brake. ..does it work?
I just experienced a very similar noise (metallic scraping shortly followed by a loud bang at low speed) - parking brake hardware broke, specifically a spring on LH side, causing it to get lodged between the shoe and rotor hat. The bang was the LH parking brake cable snapping.
This was following a tire blowout, though. Not completely out of the blue. Fortunately a straight forward repair.
