2004 SL55 AMG

Door handle button does not lock?

Just touching the handle seems to unlock (very sensitive/nice) but touching the button does not make the doors lock...any trouble shooting guidance?

Will a "consult" at an M-B dealership help define the offending component?

'06 E500, '99 ML430 and '07 SL65

You'll need a new handle. The micro switch is bad.

Might be stupid reply... but are you pressing the button? The unlock is touch sensitive, but the lock is a button that needs to be pressed. You will feel a click.

Thanks...yes I am depressing the microswitch...but your point is well taken and appreciated as the unlock is quite different.

you need to replace the handle then. the switch allows water to enter over time frying it. this also is a probly with the w211. i've had to replace the drivers handle on both me e55 and sl55.
