Parktronic problem caused by bad consumer battery?

Hi all,

So I have been having a I believe soon to be dead consumer battery, and my parktronic has been working and failing, on and off.

At first I thought it was every time after I washed the car, it would fail with the 4 red lights with a high pitch warning note.

Then, it was after driving it for awhile.

Now, I have no freaking idea why it is coming on. Seems like it is random and no real reason. I drove for 30 minutes, parked with engine on for 10 minutes, then shift to R, the failed lights came on.

I think it might be the consumer battery?

Anyone got experience, and might shed some light on this?

thanks,

J

Definitely get the electronic consumer battery changed before doing anything else. I am not saying it will resolve your problem, but I have seen a number of intermittent issues disappear on my SL and ML after replacing batteries.

I went to an independent mechanic and it was on the of the front bumper sensor that has failed. I think its poor contact, but we will see. I personally don't care about the Parktronics because if you gotta use it for this car, you probably shouldn't be driving it.
