What do these buttons do?

I could not find them in the owner's manual?

I've had the car since new, and these have always been a puzzle.

I believe they change the temperature of the eye level vents, as that is what they seem to do....... but it all could be in my imagination!

I had a BMW what would not produce heat unless the knob was switched to red. Maybe something similar?

When you are going 180mph+, you have to hold both of them for 30 seconds, then the side will have two wings that pop open and your car will transform into a plane. I **** you not.

Thanks...I was using the wrong year manual.
So they "tint" the air.
