SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: looking into buying sl... help me out

looking into buying sl... help me out
hello, im new to this forum.. so let me introduce myself. my name is dave and im 21years old and i live in sunny southern california (san diego).
as of right now, i dont have the money to purchase an sl, but i will have enough $ by the end of this calendar year. i just had some general questions and i was wondering if you guys could help me out.
as a young gun whos never bought a car on his own, i was just wondering how much can i haggle off the final price. and some pointers on how to do this would be much appreciated.
i contacted my local dealership and they told me the wait is roughly 3 months for an sl500, and a little bit longer for the 55 and 600. is there any way i can get around this? as in if i offer to pay the salesman/owner of the dealership some extra cash on the side if he can get me the car earlier.
im also looking into possibly buying my sl directly from brabus. does anyone have any experience with purchasing cars from brabus?

If you have to wait until the end of the year before you get you money together....maybe you should put an order in for a car NOW!
If you want more performance...order the 55...or even the SL65. I have driven both the SL500 and the SL55...and I ordered and bought the 55.
My dealer tells me that there is a one year lead time on an SL55...and substantially more on the SL65. I have the #1 spot at my dealer for an SL65 that would give you the car in late fall '04 or early winter that I would be willing to sell. If you are interested...let me know by PM.

I was courious because Chandler claims they have 3 comming in and only one person is on the list. Not a fan of that dealership. My 04 just came in today at Shumacher. Should be picking it up Thursday. Mike seems to be a good guy.

thanks for the advice IngenereAMG. i dont know any of the specs of the sl65, so if you can enlighten me, much appreciated.
was also curious what you guys thought about this brabus sl.

A couple of us are going up to Vegas next week and doing the AMG challenge where they give us a little chalk talk at the race track and then let us go abuse their AMG's all day!
