SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: SL55 Cam/Crank trigger wheel +sensors
Does anybody know how many teeth are on the cam and crank trigger wheels and confirm that they are VR type sensors?
From what I can gather about the crank position sensor wheel, it looks like there is no separate trigger wheel and uses the flexplate teeth. Flexplate part number I believe is 1120320247, but I can't find a reference as to how many teeth are on it. I grabbed an electronic service manual off of ebay, but it is not very forthcoming or (perhaps just easy to use).
As for the type of sensor, I only see two wires on the crank sensor, which typically means VR type sensor as well.
The reason I'm asking is for setting up some aftermarket engine management. A friend of mine physically placed the M113K from a 03? SL55 into a '99 C43 AMG chassis... It's a level 10 kind of swap for his experience level unfortunately so I'm trying to help him finish off the swap and get it running. It has a long way to go, but will get it sorted yet...
cam sensor I get a 3 wire sensor part number A 0041536928, hall type.
Camshaft gear/sprocket 1120500204 - 36 teeth
Flywheel A1120320247 looks correct and I count 144 teeth. crank sensor is only two wire and thus likely VR type.
