Rebuild post 2007 valve block
A couple of years ago, I successfully rebuilt the rear valve block following sagging issues. Was going to do the front valve block with accumulators as PM, but once I had it out, couldn't figure out how to remove the solenoid from the valve block. It has a different configuration than the rear, which leads me to suspect that it has been changed in another life. (The car is a 2004 which I bought it in 2012, no service records) Assuming that it is a post 2007 block what is the trick for removing the solenoids without breaking them??

I am assuming that you got the retaining clips off ok?
When I did mine, I was astonished at how hard it was to get the solenoids off.
All the instructions I had read said something on the order of "twist 45 or 90 degrees and the solenoid / valve body comes off". Yeah, right! It took a padded bench vice and careful use of a small pipe wrench (covered with a piece of cloth) to break them loose and get them to turn, and they would happily spin in place 360 degrees without any indication that they were ready to separate from the valve block. I had to turn and pull at the same time to get them to disconnect from the valve block. Would have been easier if I had looked at the many photos available that show how the solenoids lock into the valve block, but I tend to learn the hard way.

I'm getting an overnight sag on the right front corner. Guess it will be time for a rodeo and a filter change when I get her out of storage in the spring. (just one month to go!)
