2005 SL65 AMG

Replacing factory COMAND - Need assistance

I'm replacing the COMAND headunit with aftermarket. Do I need the male or female fiber loop for behind the radio when I remove it? Does the COMAND radio have a male or female connector on the back?

My understanding is that once you disconnect your head unit from the loop .... it becomes irrelevant as your fiber optic no longer does anything.

I need to keep the loop I have another device still operational on it

if you look at this EBAY add for a 2005 command unit, you should be able to get your answer from the fourth picture,
