Miss my SL65, Love my C63S
Thought I'd drop back by after a month or so and share my experiences.
For those that don't know, I traded my 2005 SL65 (nicknamed "The money pit") in for a 2017 C63S convertible.
I do miss the SL65. Just a classic, gorgeous car and it just never ran out of breath.
That said, overall, I like the C63S better. Some of that is just age -- the new car is tighter and has the bells and whistles.
Some is just ooomph. In S+ or Race, off the line, the C63S is reliably quicker. Driven perfectly, the SL65 is probably faster, but in daily driving the new car is just easier.
I also set my best time ever in the new car -- 11.9/119 -- on a hot day. I know I can do a little better.
So, for those of you on the fence, consider the 'lesser car'.
