Bought used SL63 doing fluid changes...

Hello all, just purchased a used SL63 2009 and it is an awesome car! I just got the service A indicator pop up on the dash so i'll be doing a oil change on it soon. I am unsure when the last time the previous owner did an ABC fluid change so i'll probably perform one soon.

When I checked the ABC fluid, it appeared to be a greenish/gray tint in color, does this indicate the fluid is still good or becoming bad? Also when performing change, I planned to just change the filter, route the return line into a bucket while filling up new ABC fluid. Would it be sufficient to just raise and lower the car using the height button by the shifter? Or will I need to have access to a Star Maintenance machine.

Thanks!

I think it is sufficient to get the car really hot. The purpose it to get the fluid hot. Do alot of driving and cornering and raise&lower the suspension

Did an oil change today but just read on the forums that there may be an aux oil cooler plug that i was supposed to drain as well. Changed out 8 quarts of oil out of it though, does the oil cooler hold alot of it?

Also I tried following some manuals on resetting maintenance light but having key in position 2, going to maintenance warning screen, holding reset does nothing. Holding it down too long just brings me back to the mileage screen. Any ideas?

Read the capacity in the owners manual, I dont recall if it says 8. But drain and fill with whatever the capacity says. Drain by the drain plug, and check the stick. It is pretty exact.

Oil capacity is about 8.5 and I'm right in between high and low markings on the dipstick so I should be good.

Only 6 or so quarts came out however. Guess this car is either burning alot of oil or the last guy didn't fill it up all the way.

it will use oil, and it doesnt matter what came out, just drive it and make sure it is at that spot and fill it untill it is near full mark.
then you would be about 8.5 qt
