how can I read ABC codes
I would like to know if there is a special tool / reader for trouble shooting the ABC system. also would like to know where to get it and the tool that puts the car into rodeo mode.

You need a Mercedes STAR diagnostic tool. There's a variety offered per Google but I'll leave it to others who can recommend based on their experience.
