SL55 front shock level sensor

I have problems with front shock level sensor in my 2004 SL55. Car has been standing 7 years without driving. Now the level sensors in front shocks dont react. Tried with other shocks and the all working so problem is in my shocks. Possible to change level sensors?

If you're 100% sure the level sensors are bad then they are very easy to replace. You will see that there is a small plastic link attached to the upper control arm on each side. On the other end of the links are the level sensors. They are simple to remove and unplug.

I'm not sure in that case as ABC 2 cars like mine do not have the level sensor in the shock.

Yes, but it is probably an impractical solution. The strut has to be removed from the vehicle and disassembled. The sensor is not available new, so you would have to find used ones.

Arnott will sell you a remanufactured strut with a lifetime warranty for about $650.

I presume you've tried jacking that wheel to allow full droop, drop down and repeat just to 'exercise' the shock travel
and potentially bring the sensor back to life ?
