I have searched and i realized 09-12 SL63 have a small population of owners here!
Anyhow, has anyone ever replaced low beam Xenons on SL63? my SL55 has D2S and was pretty accessible via under the hood, but i am unsure about the D1S on SL63. Do you access from the wheel well, by removing splash shield?

all the bulbs are replaced the same, take the door off and take the bulb out. You cant get anything from the wheel well. All you do is open the hood and take the doors off. You cant see anything but you feel the clips off and pull it out/ put it back. The drive side is hardest but Ive done them many times.

Thank you! i appreciate your feedback. Are the projectors/bi-xenon on the SL63 dynamic or auto leveling? since the SL55s aren't.
but another Question, since the SL63s are 145K+ cars, is is uncommon for these cars to not come with keyless go?
the 09 up had keyless go included with P1 pkg. I saw one car w/out

I am currently awaiting for an 09 SL63 black on black to be transferred and shipped to me. Coming from GA, so i can fully inspect the car in person. The car has black seats, seems to be 040, pano roof, heated/ventilated seats, air scarf, black piano wood trim, i saw a photo of the shift knob, but because of the angle, i am unsure if the top of the shift knob is the keyless go or not. Also, the car has the fiat bottom steering wheels with the cut out at the bottom of the 6 o'clock spoke, which i didn't see on other SL63s could it be a 2009 thing?
I asked the sales consultant RE: more info about the car, but the person is not knowledgeable one bit about these cars

I think the lites are leveling. And dont remember what p1 has. flat bottom wheel is performance pkg with LSD, 2 spoke wheels, cant remember what else
You can get the options by vin; You really should have all that before you buy anythng. Also 09 had a couple problems with 6.3. I think head bolts and lifters. Some were recalled, some had bad problems. You really need complete inspection at MB and look at the master sheet, complete warrantee history.

A 2007 SL P1 package contains: Keyless Go, Active Ventilated Seats, Multicontour Seats, and Bi-Xenon Headlamps with Corner-Illuminating Fog lamps. I know the 2009 was a facelift model from the 2007, but this may give you and idea of what may be on a 2009 model. HTH

Replacing the D1S was way easy than what I anticipated it to be.
see attached photos of the new D1S bulbs, Osram CBB (cool blue boost) 7000K, theyre not blue at all, theyre crisp white like the new models with LED headlights VS factory Osram 4300K. It's a night and day difference
