SL model year help
I had an 07 sl 55amg with 030. I loved the car and miss it, so like many I have decided to come back to the fold. I did a search but could not come up with the specifics I am looking for.
My thoughts are 2014-16 sl63amg or a facelift 2017 sl550.
Which ever way I go it will be a certified car or a good deal that I can ad Fidelity coverage for.
Would love to hear any first hand comarisons that will help illuminate the right path.

thanks for the response. Has any board member had both cars and can offer some feedback?
I am leaning toward the 63 but its a tough call. My nearest dealer, 1.5 hours away, has a '18 sl63 that I am going to check out but no sl550.

I currently own both a 2009 SL600 (R230) and a brand new (2 weeks old) SL65 (R231.) MB has made a lot of changes from the R230 to the R23. Most are really great, a few, like the deletion of the raise/lower button are really stupid. To raise the car it has to be done through the steering wheel menus.
Since you liked the SL55 AMG with the 030 package I really doubt you will be happy with a non AMG choice. The first thing to watch out for if you look at new 550’s is most are ordered with Airmatic, not ABC. That would be a deal killer for me.
Some noteable improvements are 7 speed transmission, all new electronics, complete automation of the top including the divider screen, improved interior design, better body and suspension.
The only disappointment I have is the HUD was not fitted to the SL, so it is not available, even as an option. The new sound system is far better than the one in my 2009, but still not on a par with the Burmester 3D. Of course this is a convertible.
