Well here is my story , advice needed. I bought a Android radio for my sl55 from Siecane. I installed and there was no usable radio reception. They sent an a piece to solder in that did not work . They wanted me to ship to China and pay for it even though it came from Califonia.
I attemted to use it with i heart radio , pandora etc. The redio never connected to my hotspot on its own always had to reset it. Yesterday my batt was low no Accesory power but radio worked.
Today Batt dead so I jumped it started right up radio just attempting to load with no result no buttons worked nothing on radio . I disconected batt, reconnected no lights on it at all dead as a door knob. The battery was drained by radio trying to work even with car off.
Now what.

Ok a few things to try, number one being fuses.

There will a fuse on the head unit itself, worth checking that. There will also be a fused supply TO the head unit from the car, worth checking this too.

These cars have quite a high standby drain on the batteries, so it may not have been the radio. How long since the car was last on a run ?

Poor radio reception seems a common complaint, it may be the builtin antenna - maybe the Siecane receiver section is just not sensitive enough for this antenna output. Maybe try an antenna amp in series ?

Well it was loading android on the screen today for 40 min before I stopped it and disconnected batt. I will look into the fuse later . I even bought a power antenna that did not help. Does anyone know where the radio fuse is fron the car?

We have an Android unit from Avin in our other car and I would never recommend anyone to buy one. There are so many things wrong, radio reception and bluetooth connection are just couple of them. Our unit was draining the battery as well. It was incorrect wiring for the fiber optic amplifier adapter, was connected following manufacturer instructions, it was basically on all the time. We fixed that problem ourselves here. Manufacturer support was no help at all. I would stay away from Android units all together, they maybe look nice, but in real life they are horrible.
